C1 – The Delicate Balance Between Harassment and Inappropriate Behaviour in the Workplace

Harassment of any kind has no place in the workplace. As an employer, you are legally obligated to ensure the work environment is safe and free from any form of workplace harassment under the current legislation. However, it may be difficult to determine where to draw the line between harassment and inappropriate behaviour. Throughout this session, participants will gain a better understanding of their legal obligations and how to approach these delicate situations.

This session will provide practical guidelines for conducting workplace investigations as well as highlighting the importance of conducting a comprehensive investigation in today’s challenging work environment. Given the legislative changes, new technology and social media enhancements, and the increasing level of employee sophistication, managers need to be fully equipped to carry out workplace investigations pertaining to harassment, bullying as well as workplace violence.
