While we at MaxPeople and Rodney Employment Law have always been committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, we realize that we are in a position to take stronger action and a bigger stand in our support of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) community. We have taken the time to not only listen and research the issues, but to also have serious internal discussions and commit to both an internal and external action plan.
Below is our statement and the detailed action plan we are accountable for:
It has always been part of our mission to ensure that our employees and clients are educated about the need for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. We know that the candid conversation about systemic racism needs to continue, no matter how difficult and/or uncomfortable. Through continued dialogue and learning we can help bring about much needed changes in our workplaces, in our communities and in our lives at large.
Our Action Plan
We also know we must take action. We commit to doing this both internally with our employees as well as helping our clients and community implement changes. Specifically, we will complete the following items by the end of 2020:
Ensure our Statement is transparent and accessible, live by the actions we have stated and partner only with businesses that align with our DEI policy and processes
Work to enforce our DEI Policy both internally and externally
Ensure our internal committee, IDEA (Inclusion | Diversity | Equity | Allyship) is focused on keeping the conversations alive and helping to enact change where needed
Continue partnering with experts for Diversity & Sensitivity Training
Host internal fireside chats post-training to share real stories that our diverse employee group have experienced
We all need to be a part of the important change and at MaxPeople we truly believe that actions speak louder than words. We are committed to taking all the steps noted above and will continue to have discussions and evaluate how we can continue to contribute to real progress in the future.
